In the spring of 2009 in the center of the largest city in the US, Burke and
Muraghu began a series of landscape paintings. Except unlike many plein air
landscape painters the sides of Brooklyn bodegas became their canvas. Their
collaborations have illuminated new approaches for dealing with walls but
more importantly, ways of working around them. Since their initial murals
Burke has moved to San Francisco and their collaborations have shrunk to a
scale the post office can accommodate. Their proposed exhibit views their
work through the lens of their cross-country dialogue on paper.
