(con)Temporary Gallery

Spring 2004-2007
Intervention
In the spring of 2004 I took advantage of an unclaimed and under-utilized space
between two retail stores to form Reno's first and only free outdoor gallery.
Through my desire to revitalize unused city space I transformed a forgotten
alleyway into the scenic route for culture and creativity.
As I engaged a broader community through the project it refreshed my thoughts
on the role of the artist and it motivated my continuation of the d.i.y.
gallery that I administered, curated, and participated in from 2004 through 2007.
Over that time the (con)Temporay Gallery involved internship programs with the
University of Nevada Reno, financial supporters, grant funding, five group
exhibitions, and over 100 participants from the U.S., Canada, and England.
Presently the (con)Temporary Gallery is awaiting it's 10th anniversary show in 2014.
