RGB Swing
March 2008
Max MSP/Jitter + Sculpture
The RGB Swing was a design finalist for the Sheila Johnson Design Center at
Parsons The New School for Design. The project is a 3-person interactive swingset
that plays videos from the Parsons Alumni Archives.
The swing works by coupling a wii remote and a hand coded Max MSP/Jitter patch to
interpret the acceleration of each swing. Each swing controls the video plane of
it's designated color, either red, green, or blue. As the users swing back and
forth they will find that the videoplane becomes synced when the swingers become synced,
using their collaborative effort to illustrate harmonious video playback.
